The EMS Group, active worldwide in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals and with its companies combined in EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG, achieved net sales of CHF 1'589 million (1'697) in the first nine months of 2024. In the third quarter, the strong Swiss Franc continued to hamper net sales development in Swiss Francs. The global sales offensive, launched in 2023 and since then continually expanded, delivered excellent results with profitable new business. As a consequence, net operating income (EBIT), already slightly above previous year for the first six months, was significantly higher than previous year in the third quarter.
On July 12, 2024, the EMS Group published its provisional half-year figures 2024. The definitive half-year figures 2024 are now available, based on the individual financial statements of the affiliated companies as at June 30, 2024. The Interim Financial Report 2024 shows no significant changes to the provisional report.
A large gathering of 2'055 participants followed the invitation to the 61st Annual General Meeting of EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG at Domat/Ems on August 10, 2024. A total of 19'665'717 registered shares were represented, corresponding to 89.5% of all shares entitled to vote.
The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, achieved net sales amounting to CHF 1,087 million (1,183) and a net operating income of CHF 291 million (280) in the first half-year of 2024. While a significantly stronger Swiss Franc curtailed net sales development, the global sales offensive, launched in 2023, already delivered successful results with profitable new business in the first half of 2024. As a consequence, sales volumes and net operating income (EBIT) exceeded the previous year's figures in a pleasing way.
After 29 years with the EMS Group, Executive Management member Peter Germann will retire on May 31, 2024. The Executive Management was already strengthened in 2023 with Urs Janssen and Olivier Minger.
The EMS Group, active worldwide in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals and with its companies combined in EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG, achieved net sales of CHF 545 million (614) in the first three months of 2024. While a significantly stronger Swiss Franc hampered net sales development, the global sales offensive, launched in 2023, already delivered pleasing results with profitable new business in the first quarter of 2024. Sales volumes and net operating income (EBIT) exceeded previous year.

The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, achieved net sales amounting to CHF 2,189 million (2,442) and a net operating income of CHF 493 million (611) in 2023. Net income reached CHF 461 million (535). Successfully realized new business was not able to make up for the general restraint shown by consumers and companies or the effect of weaker foreign currencies to the Swiss Franc.
The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, achieved net sales amounting to CHF 1,697 million (1,871) in the first nine months of 2023. New business, generated successfully in all markets, was not able to compensate for general restraint shown by consumers and companies, or the effect of weaker foreign currencies to the Swiss Franc. In local currencies, net sales in the USA and China were higher than previous year.
On July 14, 2022, the EMS Group published its provisional half-year report 2023. The definitive consolidated half-year report is now available, based on the individual financial statements of the affiliated companies as at June 30, 2023. The definitive half-year report shows no significant changes to the provisional report.
The invitation to the 60th Annual General Meeting of the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG on August 12, 2023 in Domat/Ems, was followed by a large gathering of 2'161 people. A total of 20'154'167 registered shares were represented, corresponding to 91.4% of all shares entitled to vote.
The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, achieved net sales amounting to CHF 1,183 million (1,284) and a net operating income (EBIT) of CHF 280 million (324), in the first half-year of 2023. Successfully realized new business was not able to make up for the general restraint shown by consumers and companies or the effect of weaker foreign currencies to the Swiss Franc. In local currencies, net sales were 1.9% lower than the previous year.
The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, achieved net sales amounting to CHF 614 million (638) in the first three months of 2023. This is CHF -3.8% due to a strong previous year period and a stronger Swiss Franc. In local currencies, net sales rose by 0.9% compared to the previous year.

The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, achieved net sales amounting to CHF 2,442 million (2,254) and a net operating income of CHF 611 million (640) in 2022. Net income amounted to CHF 535 million (553).
The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, prepared itself for an unstable economic development already at the beginning of the year. Subsequently, the economic outlook worsened continually. In the third-quarter report dated October 25, 2022, EMS forecasted an upcoming further weakening of the global economy.
The EMS Group, with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG and globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, increased net sales in the first nine months of 2022 by 10.7% compared to previous year to reach CHF 1,871 million (1,691), in local currencies, this is an increase of 13.5% compared to previous year. A new net sales record has been achieved.

The definitive consolidated half-year report is now available, based on the individual financial statements of the affiliated companies as at June 30, 2022. The definitive half-year report shows no significant changes to the provisional report.
