A large gathering of 2'215 shareholders followed the invitation to the 62nd Annual General Meeting of EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG at Domat/Ems on August 9, 2025. A total of 20'467'468 registered shares were represented, corresponding to 92.9% of all shares entitled to vote.

The event was opened by the "Swing Kids" from Canton Thurgau – the junior band directed by Dai Kimoto inspired the audience with rousing swing and jazz classics, virtuoso solos and energetic stage presence. The finale provided the drum corps Domat/EMS.

Highlight was the presentations by EMS apprentices and employees of innovative applications using EMS specialty polymers under the motto "EMS: Impressively versatile!"

With its high-performance EMS polymers, EMS is also development partner to medical technology companies. The new, ultra-lightweight walking aid with EMS rib design ensures comfortable mobility even for used a walking impairment. Pipetting controllers hearing aids, respiration valves and self-medication are also becoming lighter and tougher thanks to EMS polymers. In a small experiment, the Grisons President of Government, Marcus Caduff personally confirmed the resistance to disinfectants of the EMS medical specialty materials. EMS – impressively alive and kicking!

The global market leader for AI assisted camera system solutions for security, logistics and industry trusts EMS high-performance polymers. These replace corrodible metal parts, reduce the camera weight by up to 75% and lower costs by up to 30%. EMS polymers protect electronic components, extend the working life and make new designs possible – from housings or lenses through to AI-compatible systems. Demand for smart cameras is increasing – EMS delivers high-tech materials for the future in security surveillance. EMS – impressively precise and resistant!

Subway systems need a reliable power supply. Faulty ceramic insulators, mounted under the electric supply line at the side of the rails, cause millions of costly blackouts. EMS has now developed a high-performance polymer for the manufacture of subway insulators – half as heavy, half as expensive, but thousands of times more robust than ceramic. Starting from August 2025, the New York subway will replace around 130,000 insulators along 400 km of rail lines – and with savings of more than 2 million USD. Washington DC, Philadelphia and Miami will also convert to this new system. Throughout the world, 5.6 million more insulators are waiting to be replaced. EMS – impressively reliable, even under ground!

The Annual General Meeting approved all proposals from the Board of Directors. Shareholders will receive an ordinary dividend of CHF 13.95 gross and an extraordinary dividend of CHF 3.30 gross per dividend-bearing registered share. Payment of dividends will commence on August 14, 2025.

Re-elected as members of the Board of Directors for a further term of office were Bernhard Merki (Chairman), Magdalena Martullo (Vice-Chairman), Kaspar Kelterborn and Rainer Roten. The BDO AG, Zurich, was elected as statutory auditor. Dr. Robert K. Däppen was confirmed as independent proxy.

In the impressive marquee on the production site at Domat/Ems, shareholders and guests were served a delicious three-course lunch menu. 42 chefs from the Compass Group Switzerland with 153 helpers from the sports club Männerriege Tamins and the Renngemeinschaft Laax Ski were responsible for the preparation and serving of 722 kg cordon bleu as well as 480 kg potatoes and 480 kg mixed carrots. In total, 160 kg iceberg salad, 200 litre raspberry mousse, 200 litre vanilla sauce and 60 kg Basler Läckerli biscuits were used.
