GRIVORY HB - A New Partially Aromatic Nylon Copolymer from EMS suitable for paper coating

GRIVORY HB is a semi-crystalline PA MXD6/MXDI copolymer developed by EMS-GRIVORY for a variety of demanding barrier packaging applications.

Several GRIVORY HB grades are available, each tailored using processing aids to optimize performance for various conversion methods. Current grades include:
· GRIVORY HB 4581
· GRIVORY HB 5299
· GRIVORY XS 05_01

The product family features several unique attributes:
- Excellent oxygen and carbon dioxide barrier properties
- A processing window with temperatures similar to Nylon 6
- Lactam free chemistry, with very low extractable levels
- Good orientability at temperatures above 95 degrees C

Used in the coating of paper, card, or other substrates, GRIVORY HB enhances the barrier and mechanical properties of the package. GRIVORY HB can be applied as monolayer or in multilayer constructions. Other plies can include further barrier layers, tie layers, and/or sealing layers.
For additional modification of GRIVORY HB properties, blends or alloys with thermoplastic polymers is useful.

GRIVORY HB can be converted using known coating methods:
- extrusion coating
- lamination
- tandem extrusion or coextrusion
