Customer Service Representative

Position located in Sumter, South Carolina.

EMS-CHEMIE is looking for a highly motivated individual who can work with minimum supervision and able to manage multiple projects.  This position requires excellent multi-tasking skills and the individual must work with a sense of urgency. You must have a strong manufacturing background. You must have the ability to process customer orders and requests from taking the order to the delivery of the order including ensuring timely delivery. You will work closely with customers, sales, production scheduling and shipping to manage customer orders through the system for timely and accurate delivery, prioritizing changing customer needs. You will provide timely and accurate information relative to product and order status. Communicate the status of any situation or activities that arise on a daily basis to the Customer Service Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer orders and requests responding promptly and appropriately.
  • Send order confirmations to customers.
  • Notify Purchasing on any orders received for non-stock traded products
  • Work closely with customers, sales, production scheduling and shipping to manager customer orders through the system for timely and accurate delivery, prioritizing changing customer needs.
  • Provide timely and accurate information relative to product and order status.
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles.
  • Review open orders and schedules to ensure customer requirement are fulfilled.
  • Issue Return Authorizations/Credits and follow through with shipping and accounting for closure.
  • Arrange for expedite shipments as required and maintain expedite freight log.
  • Approve invoices on a daily basis prior to accounting posting.
  • Cross training

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum five (5) years Customer Service experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Windows 7, Excel, Word and Lotus Notes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Must be detailed oriented in preparation of shipment document with a high degree of accuracy in order entry
  • Must be capable to work under stressful situation and possess the ability to multitask efficiently
  • Must have a positive and team oriented attitude
