Production Planner Scheduler (PPS) / Buyer

EMS-CHEMIE is looking for a highly motivated individual who can work with minimum supervision. This position requires excellent multi-tasking skills and the individual must work with a sense of urgency. You will be responsible to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. An experienced production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. Advanced communication and computer skills are essential for the role. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Organize and control external production including logistics
  • Control Slow Moving Inventory and organize rework in production where appropriate
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
  • Assign workers and other staff to particular production operations
  • Schedule shift according to production needs with the respective Production Manager
  • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
  • Address issues immediately when they arise aiming for minimum disruption and problem solving
  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.)
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports
  • Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff, including other EMS Business Units
  • Involvement in Raw Material purchasing and price negotiations with suppliers.


  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Proven experience as production planner preferred
  • Proficient in Windows 7, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes and MRP (Manufacturing resource planning)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Must be capable to work under stressful situations and possess the ability to multi-task efficiently
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Good at math and statistics
