EMS-GRIVORY successful at the anniversary Fakuma

The Fakuma opened its doors again from October 17 until 21, 2017 in Friedrichshafen (Germany). EMS-GRIVORY was represented and was the centre of attention!

Compared to the K Messe, the largest plastics trade fair in the world, everything at the Fakuma is straightforward. Friedrichshafen has around ten times fewer inhabitants than Düsseldorf, the exhibition site has only 12 halls instead of 19 and the number of visitors is about one fifth. The Fakuma is considered to be a familiar “plastics market place”.

Despite this, the Fakuma has by no means a niche existence, exactly the opposite: Located centrally in the border triangle of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the international expert trade fair has developed to take a clear second place behind the K Messe. The 25th edition of the Fakuma carried on the success trip: more exhibitors, more exhibition space and more visitors.

Proven concept

For 20 + years, EMS-GRIVORY has made use of this platform to present itself and its products. A clear room concept has crystallized in the last few years: an open, inviting stand, not too full and with plenty of room for meetings. This blueprint was put into action again in 2017 with great success. The trade fair appearance was based in general on the same one as last year’s K Messe except that the stand was only one floor instead of two storeyed – everything is one size smaller in Friedrichshafen.

Also part of the show for the last 15 years is Joe Whitney with his StreetLIVE-Family and the Cocktail Divas. Every year the band thrills the visitors to the EMS stand party with a lot of charm and rousing songs. This year was no exception.

All eyes on EMS-GRIVORY

But there was one change compared to earlier years. Successful applications using EMS polymers were more in focus than in the past. One in particular – the motorbike rear frame made of Grilamid LCL-3H. This was also presented this year at the media conference in July and the Annual General Meeting in August and stood here prominently in the front left corner of the stand. The manufacturer Husqvarna had also provided a real motorbike which was placed alongside the rear frame. The machine was a real crowd puller; many visitors stopped to look at the two-wheeled power pack. But also the other parts on show, such as the air vent lamellae from the latest Audi Q7 model, the filigree hearing aid housings from Sonova and the SmartTie fastening system from HCL provided many discussion topics at stand B2 2113.

Intense activity behind the scenes

There was plenty going on at EMSGRIVORY. The bar team – as usual made up of EMS employees – had its hands full. Visitors needed to be served, used crockery collected and washed up as well as preparing numerous snack plates with air-dried meat and Swiss cheese. Above all during the party the bar team had plenty to do - as usual, the stand and surrounding aisles were packed full with visitors.

Positive balance

The summary after the trade fair is very positive. EMS-GRIVORY was able to further strengthen its reputation as an innovative development partner and to back this up with tangible examples. The employee survey also showed good marks for the stand concept. On average, the stand crew gave 8 out of 10 possible points. The suggestions for improvements were also very valuable. They show that improvements are always possible – even after 20 years of practice.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organisers, stand personnel, service team and all other people involved for their great commitment. I am already looking forward to the next Fakuma with them.
