The EMS Group, globally active in the business areas High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals, and with its companies combined in the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG, has been presented with the "Global Supplier Excellence Award 2018" by ITRON Inc., USA. EMS received this significant award due to the extraordinary quality of its services and products, high innovation capability and permanent value-added engineering.

ITRON, customer and strategical development partner of EMS since 1997, is a global technology corporation with its headquarters in Liberty Lake, Washington, USA, and is leader in the field of energy and water resource management. "This award is another step in the EMS strategy of further utilising our growth potential also in America," stated Magdalena Martullo, CEO of the EMS Group.

High-performance polymers from EMS have long held a leading position in the field of sanitary fittings, replacing brass for use in contact with hot and drinking water. Using EMS' materials, manufacturers of sanitary fittings can achieve cost savings of up to 60%.

EMS has been expecting a progressively slowing of the global economy since the beginning of 2018, approaching it accordingly with new products, innovative applications and global efficiency programmes. The award in the field of sanitary applications confirms the success of this approach. Furthermore, 470 efficiency measures are being implemented globally within the EMS Group, which will achieve their full effectivity during 2019.

For the whole year 2018, EMS continues to expect net sales and net operating income (EBIT) slightly above the previous year and at new record levels.
