Takeover of Nexis Fibers GmbH completed

The EMS Group, with global activities in the business areas Performance Polymers and Fine Chemicals / Engineering and with its companies combined in EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG, informed on September 25, 2009 about its intention to take over Nexis Fibers AG, Neumünster, Germany, a manufacturer of speciality technical fibres. In the meantime the corresponding authorities have given their unconditional approval to this acquisition so that the takeover is definitive. The transfer of ownership has been carried out yesterday evening.

Nexis Fibers GmbH develops, manufactures and markets speciality technical fibres based on polyamides and other polymers with annual net sales of around CHF 40 million and a current workforce of 95 employees. With this takeover EMS strengthens its own business with polyamide-based speciality technical fibres, which is carried out by the Business Unit EMS-GRILTECH from Domat/Ems, Switzerland.

As part of the EMS Group, Nexis Fibers GmbH will continue to work as before under the new designation EMS-CHEMIE (Neumünster) GmbH and will be integrated in the EMS speciality fibre business. Operations will continue on the previous basis at both production sites in Domat/Ems, Switzerland and Neumünster, Germany.
